SqueezePlay recently stopped working for me. It will come up in Windows, but won't connect either to my main LMS (running on a different box) or to the backup LMS (running on the same box SqueezePlay is on). It just spins trying to connect, then times out with the usual "try again" and "switch libraries" options. Neither option gets anywhere.
There have been no changes to either copy of LMS, nor to any router or firewall options (which shouldn't really affect the LMS running on the same box anyway). Other (hardware) players in the house can connect to both libraries just fine.
The problem seems to have started when I used Squeeze Commander on my (Android) phone, controlling the SqueezePlay "player" to switch libraries from the primary to the backup. Commander said the switch went just fine, and shows the player as playing, but there's no sound. And SqueezePlay doesn't seem to have realized that it has switched. It thinks it isn't connected to anything. Oh, and I've tried connecting it to mysqueezebox.com, too; no dice.
I suspect there's a glitch in the way Squeeze Commander does the switching between servers, that SqueezePlay doesn't get the word. Since Commander works just fine switching all the various hardware players, I'm guessing the trouble is with SqueezePlay. In any case, I'd like to get it working again.
I've tried uninstalling SqueezePlay and reinstalling, but it seems to retain its settings even after an uninstall, and it goes right back into the same condition. I tried searching the Windows registry to see if there were settings in there I could remove, but didn't find any.
Does anybody know anything about where SqueezePlay might store settings/parameters that persist through an uninstall? I think if I could completely clear everything out, I could at least get it working again, and then just avoid using Commander to do the switch from one LMS to another. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
