If only.... Audible plugin

I've spent hours trying to figure out a way to get Audible working with squeezebox.

(I know mp3 files can be used, but that route is clumsy for easy listening)

I discovered there are several python scripts to access audible, but being programming illiterate I've no idea if they work.
Audible has a cloud player service for access via a browser - seems to work quite well.

But there's no obvious way to get any of this into LMS.

I suppose there are just too many hurdles for a dev. Guru to come up with a plugin.

(I can listen via Sonos, but it's totally inflexible compared to squeezebox)

Any ideas?
